Axie Builder Program : Ogami Conquest!

Last week, we talked about a Tower Defense game that will join the Axieverse and today we will talk about a completely different game : Ogami Conquest!
Ogami Conquest is a MOBA game, standing for Multiplayer Online Battle Arena that you are developing with your team.
We are here today to talk about your project and share it with the community who only waits one thing. Play a lot of games with their Axies!
First questions are pretty common to all projects then we will go into details that I could find in your whitepaper.
The Guillotine Post : When did you start working on Ogami Conquest and how many people are with you in this adventure ?
Ogami Conquest : Mornage and I did a lot of brainstorming and around end of October 2021 we talked about the idea of a NFT MOBA game where you can have heroes which have different traits and depending on the traits, their abilities vary. The uniqueness of it was that you could breed/create your own character with the desired sets of spells you wished for. We quickly realized that there was no such game yet. A couple days later, I came up with the idea to utilize an already existing IP for our game idea — Axie Infinity. After one and a half month of intensive work we released the first version of our whitepaper on December 13th, 2021. Since then, we are working every day & night on Ogami Conquest and are now a team of 10 people.

The Guillotine Post : If you had to make a speech about Ogami Conquest, how would you present it? Is it a game that we will play on computer and/or phone?
Ogami Conquest : I would say Ogami Conquest is an extension of the Axieverse. This means every single person, who owns at least one Axie, will be able to play it. We believe the future of Axie Infinity will bring a vast ecosystem of truly community made games such as Ogami Conquest. Our game is one piece of the puzzle that forms the Axieverse and if you are having fun playing MOBA games, then we invite you to join us in this journey and build alongside us.
Ogami Conquest is originally planned for Android and iOS but we are open towards a PC version as well.

The Guillotine Post : In the Axie community, MOBA games are pretty famous. Lot of Sky Mavis employees come from DOTA 2 and the excitement around Axie MOBA game is pretty big.
Compare to “normal” MOBA (not on-chain game), what is for you the big advantage of Ogami Conquest?
Ogami Conquest : We think that the big advantage that Ogami Conquest brings, in a general crypto-game context, is the fact that it is leveraging the body-part mechanic of Axies, which results in a unique sub genre which we are calling a Sandbox MOBA. We are aware that this concept can be hard to balance, which is why we already came up with solutions towards that to ensure a dynamic flow of the game without disrupting the fun part through broken builds. We discuss balancing in our 3rd devlog with more details. Also, Ogami Conquest can leverage the Axie Infinity community without worrying about tokenomics, and focus on fun aspect of the game.

The Guillotine Post : Even if we can find all informations in Ogami Conquest whitepaper, can you share with us, in few sentences, how you will integrate Axies in the game. Do i need to own Axies to play? Which stats/cards are you taking into consideration to create the in-game character?
Ogami Conquest : Lunacians will be able to connect their Ronin wallet with their Ogami Conquest Player Account. By doing this, they can see and use Axies they have in their Ronin wallet in Ogami Conquest. They will not need to transfer their Axies to another wallet or bridge them to another blockchain in order to play. They just need to log in with their Ogami Player Account after connecting their Ronin wallet.
Axies have 6 body parts but we will, for the sake of convenience, utilize only 4 of them. This results in 3 “normal” abilities and one “ultimate” ability. We are utilizing the mouth, head, back and tail (ultimate) body part. Additionally, players can choose active spells like “heal”, “shield” or “teleport” (and so on) as secondary abilities. The secondary abilities are universal and can be equipped by any Axie. Each type of Axie will have unique passives. For instance, a plant Axie will have more armor and health than a bird Axie. The plants normal attack will be melee while a bird will be ranged. Meaning, players will choose the type and body parts of their Axies accordingly to their desired playstyle.

The Guillotine Post : Let’s jump into game economy. Is it free to play if i have Axies? Or do we need to spend some SLP/ETH to start the game and destroy the members of Axie core-team ?
Ogami Conquest : Axies are your ticket to every Axie related game — also Ogami Conquest. Every Lunacian will be able to play Ogami Conquest for free if they own at least one Axie.
But we are planning to have a tournament system where players can choose to play competitively against other players. They pay a certain SLP entry fee, which will be used to distribute the prizes for 1-3 placed teams within the tournament and a smaller percentage of the prize pool will be burnt. Players can also earn in Ogami Conquest through a Battle Pass system by playing the game, achieving certain milestones to unlock NFT Axie skins. There will be two versions of the Battle Pass. The first one will be free for everyone, where players can unlock one skin per season by playing Ogami Conquest. The second version will be a premium Battle Pass NFT, where players can earn up to three skins per season. Seasons in Ogami Conquest will last between 8-12 weeks.

The Guillotine Post : One of the big economy part of Ogami Conquest will be the creation of your own marketplace. What could we find inside and is it your way to burn some SLP?
Ogami Conquest : If we are talking about ways of burning SLP, we came up with several methods to do so. One of them is the tournament system I mentioned before. Another SLP burning methods will be through NFT sales. With every NFT sale, we will burn at least 10-20% SLP of each NFT sale. This includes skin sales as well as the premium Battle Pass NFT. Regarding NFT skins, we came up with a more complex system of burning SLP through NFT skins using “Blueprints” and “Skin Crushing” which we discuss more in detail in our whitepaper.

The Guillotine Post : Did you put your project into the Axie Builder Program? Why do you think this program could help your project?
Ogami Conquest : We applied for the Axie Builders Program the day it was launched due to the fact that we were in a good position to have our detailed plan and whitepaper ready. We think that the ABP can help projects like ours to get the best results with the guidance and help of Sky Mavis. Also, being able to work closely with Sky Mavis is desired by us since we are using their IP and want to work accordingly to their terms and the ABP guidelines.

Ogami Conquest : Yes! Actually, shortly after the announcement of the Axie Builders Program, with the help of other builders, we have formed a Discord server for Axie Builders. We invite every project to join our Discord server since we are open to help each other. I want to shout out Axiology, Mech Infinity, Axie Smash, Crisis Rift, Axie SOE, Axie Brawl, Axie Warkart and Axie Battlecraft.
